The Construction – What Materials Are Used?

The mattress is 11″ thick, and it’s constructed of 5 layers which are wrapped up in the cooling TENCEL® cover. The cover is made out of eucalyptus fibers that give a silky and smooth feeling to the touch and help in the overall temperature regulation. The cover is more absorbent than cotton and gives it a luxurious look.

• Top Layer – Underneath the TENCEL® cover, there is a 1” of cooling gel foam. This layer enables a fast recovery and contributes to the overall comfort and softness of Solay.
• Second Layer – Next in line is the Energex Foam, and it is 2″ thick. This layer is in charge of reducing the motion transfer. It does a great job at it, and you sleep peacefully and have a relaxed night. With that being said, if you sleep with your partner and they tend to move a lot, then you won’t be disturbed at all.
• Third Layer – This is the support layer of the Solay. It comes above the coils, and it is designed to relieve the pressure points. It is exceptionally efficient in relieving any pressure for back and stomach sleepers.
• Fourth Layer – The fourth layer is constructed of steel spring coils, known as the Quantum® Edge coils. It’s 6″ thick, and each coil is individually pocketed. This layer provides extra support for the whole body by smoothly contouring it, especially the heavier parts that require more pressure relief. Also, the coils system allows air to flow freely within the layers, and as a consequence, Solay balances the temperature while you have a cool night of sleep.
• Foundation Layer – The final layer is the mattress’s base, and it is made of 1″ thick, dense foundational foam. It also contributes to the overall support, and it’s in charge for its stability and durability.

Analyzing the Firmness

The firmness of a mattress is an entirely subjective feel. That’s because it feels different to different people and it depends on many factors, such as body weight, measurements, and shape, as well as on various sleeping positions.

However, after a thorough product’s reviewing and other customer’s opinions, we came to an objective conclusion regarding Solay’s firmness.

Solay, with a rating of 6.5/10 scored a medium-firm level on the firmness scale. The foam on top provides a beautiful and soft feeling, but it won’t let you sink in it. Because of that, it is quite comfortable for back or stomach sleepers because it provides a lot of support to the back and the shoulders. Also, you won’t feel as if your hips are being stuck in the mattress.

Will the Bed Sleep Hot?

Due to the top cooling gel foam and the pocketed coils system, the bed will keep you entirely cool throughout the night. The Quantum® Edge coils system has been successfully tested, and it showed approximately 30% better results than other mattresses, no matter if they’re an all-foam or an innerspring.

Edge Support
