Snuz is a relatively new player in the online mattress industry, and their top-notch products are quite promising. They want to improve the way we sleep, and they have managed to do so by engaging in a lot of market research and biomedical engineering. The result was the ultimate Snuz bed.

It’s made of three foam layers that are designed cleverly to bring the best amount of overall plush and stability. It’s made using the latest technologies and high-quality materials. As such, it has an excellent design, and it will provide you with the ultimate pressure relief.

Snuz Mattress Was Formed For Sleepers Who

• Want excellent motion isolation – When you share your bed with a partner, excellent motion isolation is of utmost importance. When every motion is minimized, you won’t be bothered if your partner tends to toss and turn a lot during the night. Their movements won’t be transferred to your bed’s side, and you’ll have a good night of restful sleep.
• Are side sleepers – Side sleepers require comfortable surface because when they sleep on their side, a lot of weight is concentrated on a smaller surface area. Therefore, the surface has to be softer in order to relieve any pressure in the shoulders and the hips. Snuz will give you a feeling of sinking a bit which is great for sleeping positions like this one.
• Want a breathable all-foam – All-foams mattresses are notoriously famous for not being breathable enough and for retaining more heat than innersprings. If you are particularly sensitive to odors, then you might be bothered by this one.

• Are heavier – Heaver individuals need better support and firmer top layer to get the required stability. Even though it’s of medium firmness level, it might not be enough for the heavier sleeper due to the softness and the top layer’s construction. You may give it a try, but it will probably not give you the proper support, and it won’t be much durable.

Inside the Construction (Layers/Materials)

Snuz is 10″ thick, and it’s constructed of 3 layers that are wrapped up in a white and soft cover. The cover itself has a cloudy pattern which represents the company’s logo. The cover is pretty elastic, and it’s made of woven cloth and polyester fabric that increases the overall breathability and comfort of Snuz. It also has anti-microbial features and protects the mattress against heat retention. If it’s not good enough already, it has zippers, it can be removed, and it can be washed for better cleanliness.

Also, we have reviewed each layer separately, and in continuation, we will describe their features and construction.

• Top Layer – The first layer is made of 2” thick polyurethane foam, and it is divided into 7 zones. The odd numbers of zones, like the first, third, fifth and seventh are made of solid material that is in charge of providing enough support for the sleeper. On the other hand, the second, fourth and six zones have channels that increase the airflow and help against heat retention. The layer is designed to relieve any pressure in the shoulders and hips, and it supports the body’s natural contour.
• Middle Layer – This layer is made of 2” thick memory foam that has been infused with charcoal. By being enriched with graphite, this layer is in charge of providing ultimate comfort and additional pressure relief features to the fellow sleeper. The graphite also has the power to reduce the typical odor that the new mattresses have, and it also contributes to the overall cleanliness of it by absorbing any moisture.
• Foundation – The Snuz’s base layer is made of 6″ thick base foam that is quite dense. This layer gives the overall mattress’s shape, and it’s in charge of its stability and durability. Also, this is the layer that provides bounciness to the bed and which will allow you to switch positions easily.

Firmness

Even though the mattress’s firmness depends on the materials used and the construction itself, it also depends on the sleeper’s body type and sleeping positions. Therefore, different people will feel the firmness differently.

Usually, the heavier the sleeper is, the firmer the bed should be so that it can give the right support to the whole body. After we have carefully reviewed Snuz, considering other people’s reviews too, we determined its overall firmness level.

Snuz scored a rank of 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale where ten is the firmest. By being medium-firm, Snuz can adapt to wide range of sleepers and sleeping preferences. The layers’ density will enable excellent stability to the body throughout the night and will keep it entirely aligned. Its construction will also alleviate any pain and discomfort. It’s great for side sleepers due to its softer surface, but it’s also good for any sleeper as it provides the right amount of support.

Cooling (Our Thoughts)

All-foams usually tend to retain more heat than innersprings. However, Snuz has several features that contribute to better heat distribution and overall temperature balance. Because of the upper layer’s construction, the 7 zones enable for better airflow, and as a consequence, the heat retention is reduced.

Also, the charcoal in the second layer absorbs the moisture and will make you feel comfortable during the night. If that’s not enough, then the cover comes in handy with its cooling properties which improve the mattress’s breathability.

Edge Support

The mattress’s overall support is quite good due to the density of the base layer. However, memory foam beds tend to have low edge support, and this one also has weaker stability in the edges. When you sit on the edges or lie near them, you can feel a certain degree of compression that will let you sink in up to the base layer. That’s because there is no reinforcement in the edges nor any an encasement.

However, the support on the surface is consistent, and if you don’t perform many activities on the edges of Snuz, then this should not be a significant drawback.
