How It’s Created (Layers/Materials)

The Hyphen is constructed out of three layers, and in overall it’s 10″ thick. The three layers are covered with an elastic quilt that is made of a nice blend of polyester and spandex. The cover is very soft to the touch, and because it’s stretchy, it won’t be balled up when switching positions. Also. It is very breathable, and it allows for a good airflow that will keep it cooler.

• Top Layer – The top layer is the comfort layer of Hyphen. It’s made of 2” thick proprietary foam that is dense enough to provide pressure relief. It’s also great when it comes to conforming to the body. Because it has a quicker response to pressure compared to the traditional foam, it won’t let you feel as if you are stuck into it. This layer is also adapted to allow air flow freely within the layers. It has holes which increase the breathability and also, it is infused with copper for higher distribution of the heat. The whole construction of the upper layer will enable you to sleep cooler and more relaxed.
• Middle Layer – Underneath the top layer is the transitional layer. This layer is made of 2” thick polyfoam which is in charge of balancing the effects of the proprietary foam layer and the base. The polyfoam gives a bit of bounciness and will enable higher motion isolation. You will be able to switch sleeping positions quickly, and you won’t be disturbed if your partner moves a lot.
• Foundation Layer – The base layer is the one that provides support for the whole body. It’s the densest layer, made of polyfoam. It’s 6″ thick, and its function is to provide stability to any sleeper, and it offers protection against sinking in. Also, this layer contributes to the overall durability and the overall Hyphen’s shape.

Firmness

The firmness of a mattress is a highly subjective matter. It feels different to different sleepers, and it depends on their body measurement and sleeping positions. After a thorough review of the bed and other customer’s opinions, we have finally established the bed’s rating.

Even though it’s made of foam, Hyphen is a product of a medium firm level. We ranked it as 7.5/10 because it offers excellent support. The surface exhibits a softer feel, but it provides a good bounce, and it quickly regains its shape. Hyphen wanted to create a bed that will conform to many body types and preferences, so if you are not too picky about the firmness level, thigh may be the right mattress for you.
