Layers, Construction and Materials Overview

The Sleep Republic praises their product as being the perfect mattress, and when you take a look at the composition and structure, you can only agree with them.

When we started our reviewing process, the first thing we noticed was the fantastic cover. It’s soft, plush, and the pattern makes you think about luxurious designs you only see in high-end stores. Given that the top is knitted cashmere fabric that provides durability and a lush feel when you touch it, you are entitled to think about your sleeping surface as being extravagant.

But that’s not all! The bottom and side panels are made of 3D spacer fabric, a durable material that keeps the insides safe and allows room for the air to circulate unhindered.

On the inside, there is a three-layer structure that provides plenty of support and comfort:

• Gel Infused Memory Foam – The traditional viscoelastic material provides a soft, contouring surface that will follow your movements while sleeping, and the gel helps to open the cell structure and improves ventilation.
• Natural Latex – Sleep Republic decided to go with natural latex for its antimicrobial properties and added support. The layer works with the viscoelastic on top to keep the entire surface at a medium-firm level and provide natural buoyancy.
• High Definition Pocket Spring – With 1850 coils (in a Queen size), this layer is divided into areas of support meaning that each area will react differently under pressure. It’s also designed to keep any partner disturbance at a minimum level and increase the life of the product. Finally, the edges are equipped with stronger coils so you can use the entire surface without feeling the roll-off sensation that’s common in all-foam designs.

Our Firmness Level

The Sleep Republic is a medium firm level because they learned it is the most accommodating level of firmness for most sleepers.

As part of our review, we had several different sleepers test the surface in various positions, and all of them were satisfied with the general feel. Now, it may take a few days to get used to the combination, but, at the end of a month period (maximum), you’ll get used to how the mattress cradles the body while the coils provide variable support.

The first time you lay on the Sleep Republic surface, you get in contact with the soft, plush feeling created by the quilted cover and top layer. As you continue your journey in the dream world, you’ll start feeling the support and flexibility of the natural latex layer, which acts as a buffer between the memory foam and the coils.

Finally, the layer of springs is supportive and firm, which works amazingly with the two sheets of foam on top. It’s also important to know that Sleep Republic opted for a version with more spring, to make sure motion transfer is kept at a minimum level.

Stay Cool During Warm Nights

The Sleep Republic is a hybrid, and this means a great deal when we talk about the temperature during slumber. The coils create a fantastic ventilation area, right at the core of the Sleep Republic surface that takes the hot air delivered by the top layers and cools it down.

But the process starts with the quilted cashmere top – this is a natural fabric that wicks heat and humidity away from the sleeper. Next, the memory foam layer is infused with gel to prevent any overheating, and the natural latex layer doesn’t trap heat.
