Structure & Construction (Layers/Materials)

4Sleep has a slightly more complex structure than the other products on the market. It’s constructed of four layers with an additional edge support system. The layers are wrapped up in an elastic cover that is made of polyester, viscose, and Lycra. The cover is breathable and does not retain the heat. • Third Layer – The third layer is a part of 4Sleep’s support system. It’s made of 1.5″ thick polyurethane foam, and it’s designed for providing proper support to the body. It will enable you to lay on the mattress’s surface without sinking into it. Also, it will keep your body adequately aligned without causing you any aches.
• Foundational Layer – This is the thickest layer, made of 7″high-density foam. Its role is to provide the most significant support of 4Sleep and to provide the overall mattress’s shape. Also, it adds to its overall durability and stability.
• Edge support system – Edge support can be a drawback for an all-foam, and therefore, 4Sleep took it one step further and developed a support system. This layer is 2.5″ thick and adds excellent edge support. It is only attached to the two most extended edges and will enable for a lower compression once you are near the edges. It is also beneficial if you want to use the whole bed’s surface.

Firmness Results & Analysis

Every sleeper will feel the bed’s firmness differently. That’s because it depends on the body shape and the sleeping position. Therefore, a firm foundation will feel softer to heavier individuals, and that’s why they should opt for firmer alternatives.
